The Yuanhe Xingzuan records the Ju surname as descended from the Jin official Xian Qieju and states that many people of this surname lived in Qiantang. Historical figures include Ju Gu of the Han, Ju Jie of the Ming, Ju Lian of the Qing, and Ju Zheng of modern times.
