During the Southern Song, people from the Da and Xiao Laoshan areas of Shanxi fled here and established a village. Because they were all of the Lao surname and were few in number, it was called Xiaolao Village and later renamed Laocun.
Laocun mainly preserves the Qishan Lao Ancestral Hall and the Wansong Lao Ancestral Hall.
