In the Song period, the Miu surname was mainly distributed in Jiangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Fujian, with Jiangxi accounting for about 35% of the total. In the Ming period, it was mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi, which together accounted for about 87%, making Jiangsu-Zhejiang a population center.
