Research Notes

Legendary Traditions

Two local traditions explain the name Suo Busuo in Shilin: one attributes it to earlier settlement by people surnamed Bu; the other says a father and daughter fled after locking their door on New Year's Eve, after which 此 and 夕 were combined to form 㱔. These accounts are local legends.
