Kūnwú / K'un-wu
Tradition holds that the Kunwu clan descended from Zhuanxu, a grandson of the Yellow Emperor, and was an allied tribe of the Xia dynasty.

The tribe was enfeoffed in the state of Kunwu, identified as east of present-day Xuchang in Henan, and was therefore called the Kunwu clan.
Descendants of the Kunwu clan were enfeoffed in Su, in the area of present-day Jiyuan and Wen County in Henan; their descendants later adopted the fief name as the surname Su.
