The Yehe Nara clan was one of the Eight Great Manchu surnames of the Qing dynasty. Its ancestors were from the Mongolian Tumed clan, and it was originally the noble surname of the Yehe tribe, one of the four Haixi tribes in the late Ming period.

Origins
Origins and Name
The Yehe Nara clan was originally located in the Yehe River and Yitong River basin of present-day Jilin. In the early sixteenth century it moved south to the north of Kaiyuan and later moved to the Yehe River, giving rise to the name Yehe tribe.

Migration and Distribution
After Nurhaci's conquest and incorporation, the Nara clan living in the Yehe tribe moved to Hetu Ala. In the first year of the Shunzhi era, most of the Nara clan entered the Pass, settled in Beijing, and were assigned to garrisons in various places.

The Yehe Nara clan produced three Qing empresses: Empress Xiaocigao of Nurhaci, Empress Dowager Cixi of the Xianfeng Emperor, and Empress Dowager Longyu of the Guangxu Emperor.
