Zong Ze
Zong Ze (1060-1128), courtesy name Rulin, was a political and military figure at the transition from the Northern to the Southern Song. In the first year of Jingkang he served as commander-in-chief of the Hebei volunteer forces, appointed Yue Fei as a general, repeatedly defeated Jin forces, and cried “Cross the River” three times before his death.

Dantu Lineage of Zhongwu Hall
The Zhongwu Hall genealogy records that the founding ancestor Zong Daopu took refuge south of the Yangtze during the turmoil of the Five Dynasties and settled at Shibantang in Shaxi, Yiwu, Zhejiang. His eighth-generation descendant Zong Ze was banished to Zhijin Ward in Dantu, Runzhou, during the Xuanhe era of the Northern Song, and later descendants dispersed across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and other areas.
